Life of an Agency Owner: Episode 5 - Mental Health, The power of A.I. in Marketing and Super Bowl 57

All right. What's up? What's up? What's up? What's up? All right. Back with another episode. The first week of February, check mark. Done Crazy Year is flying by. We do have a Super Bowl coming up next week, so the following video will probably be a little Super Bowl recap. Um, so very excited about that.

Um, one, I. Going, but just not able to pull it off. This year with waste, we got waste Management and Super Bowl on the same weekend in the same city is insane. Uh, so obviously, prices of everything and sold out of everything. So unfortunately, we won't be able to make it, which is a bummer. But, um, yeah, it's, that's definitely.

Bucket list as far as a marketer's concerned of trying to get out to and, and be at the network at and, and just be and be seen. Uh, a couple of significant learnings this week. I think mental health was probably one of the bigger ones. Um, with a focus on just trying to be consistent with your health and being, um, you know, health-minded first.

Easier said than done. The stresses of, um, being an entrepreneur, the priorities of, you know, just every day. Been pressures and, you know, uh, outside influences and what you're supposed to do and whom you're supposed to be, uh, was rough this week. So, you know, the way that I have found for me and different for everybody to overcome some of this stuff is the gym.

I love working out on my way to the gym right now. Um, it's my happy place, as crazy as that sounds. Um, but it's, you know, if you just kind of, for me, if you sit there and sort of soak in what's happening. I don't find that to be very healthy. I am so getting out, moving, and doing things.

Wintertime is a little more challenging than summertime, but, um, yeah, you know, I find that by going to the gym this time of year, very excited for, uh, you know, well, not very excited, but excited for spring and summer to come along and get back out and bike. I have some big goals for, um, or big ambitions for cycling this year.

Um, I'm very excited about that, which will be a lot of fun. And yeah, so I think just, you know, Not healthy. If you're not feeling good, if you're not feeling like yourself, it's tough to be creative. It takes work to get your job done, making the whole work process challenging and weighing on you.

So, uh, at first, if you're not healthy, healthy, if you're not happy, it's tough to, tough to be who you are in, um, in your, in your realm. The other most significant thing and kind of, you know, is the hot topic of 2023. The integration of AI into people's workspace, um, and chat has been the. G p t obviously kind of like the tagline leading a lot of this for me.

I started using AI in the middle of last year. Jasper, that's been the tool I've used most of the time, and I use it as more of an augmented, um, not a replacement. So what I usually do is a lot of the content that I create, whether it's blog posts or, um, posts for, uh, Instagram or YouTube or TikTok.

I usually run it through the algorithm just to get a couple of different ideas and perspectives. The way I use it, it is kind of like running it by your coworker and seeing what they think. So that's what I've been doing with it, and I've run it through Jasper. Uh, they have a content improver tab or template, um, that I run it through.

And what it does is it comes up with three different versions, excuse me, three different versions of the, um, And then I usually take like a couple of sentences or, you know, sometimes more than a couple of sentences. I typically don't like copying and pasting it, and I encourage everybody else to do the same.

I wouldn't use it as a replacement. I would use it as an augmenting tool. Another one that I've started to use is descript. I use descript for translating these YouTube videos into blog posts for my website to help improve SEO. Um, so I use DS script for that. It's a free program that you download and get x amount of hours per month.

And so I use that, uh, to transcribe all my videos. And then, I run my content through Jasper, and then I also run it through Grammarly. Um, and that's like my creative process for copywriting, as I am not the most or the best writer in the world, as you just saw. Um, it's been very beneficial for me to speed up the process.

Have to try and recreate the wheel every second, and not trying to, um, you know, come up with, well come up with new, fresh ideas, but not to, um, linger on kind of the spelling, the pronunciation, all the kind of the technical stuff where I get caught up in. So that's how I use that. Um, there are a thousand ones out there.

I'm working on another one, um, or I work with another one called Vid IQ, and that's what I. For YouTube videos for this, it helps me with, um, again, SEO helps me with, um, title creation for SEO tags and just kind of, uh, I've, I've, I also use it for like daily identification or daily ideas for, um, shorts, which has been very beneficial.

It's, it's at least doubled my views, if not tripled them. Um, so, you know, again, another perfect one to look at again, look at so that you can implement AI into your business, not as a replacement, but as a complimentary to what you offer, um, my next endeavor will be diving into, like the images, which I'm interested about, uh, more from a content creation perspective.

So I'm going to kind of dive into that. This stuff adds up, however. It's like 50 bucks here, 50 bucks. There, 50 dollars there. And, uh, so kind of a bummer, but it is, uh, is what it is. And if you can create more content more efficiently, the money's worth it. So, take a look at a couple of different tools out there.

There are a bunch of great podcasts out there as resources. I'm going to try and get a list of my own. Um, that is a fantastic resource. I'll post that on the blog, um, andrew dornish.com. No plug. Um, so take a look and, uh, yeah, let, um, I don't even have anything else, so you can't take a look, but that’s a couple of thoughts from the week.

We have, again, been a productive week. Lots of great business ideas are coming around, so. Super Bowls are coming up. We have a couple of things going on there. A couple of commercials are already starting to leak, which is fantastic. Not the stuff that we're working on, but, uh, many of the commercials are coming out on YouTube and alternative platforms, which is very interesting.

Uh, Ford is back in Formula one. Fascinating thing. So yeah, it's, uh, the world of advertising, the world of marketing is, is. It is thriving, you can say. Um, it's usually one of the first things you get cut, but this time of year, it's always fascinating. Obviously, with Super Bowl, much budget is going toward that.

So yeah, have a wonderful day. Enjoy your week. Talk to you next week. Uh, a fly, Eagles fly ca. Kansas City friends will hate me for that, but, uh, should be, should be much fun on the field and in the commercials. Super Bowl is going to be great. Have a good one.
