Life of an Agency Owner: Episode 1 - Workout, Growth & Knowledge

So, as I said, I headed to the gym. This is my favorite part of the day. Uh, it is Sunday. I want to do a better job of creating some of these videos, help give people a little bit of perspective and tell a little bit about my journey, uh, through the marketing industry—my name's Andrew, and for those who don't know me.

I have been in the marketing industry in some capacity or have not gotten hit for the past couple of years. Let's say seven years I've been on my own. I've been in the experiential marketing space for a long time before that, but I've learned a lot. And that the goal for this year is growth.

How to grow this year, uh, how to improve on what I've learned in the past and how to do it better, how to grow, how to expand, how to, you know, be the best version of myself. So I'm going to try and shoot one of these at least once a week to share a little bit about what I have been doing and a little bit about my journey.

So I hope you all enjoy it. If you do, make sure you subscribe to this. I will post these on YouTube and publish them on Sunday, so we'll see. And, uh, yeah, so the first week of the year, you know, many positives, a lot of new, not many negatives, couple negatives. I'll share some of those positives, you know, expanding, right?

When it comes to leads, you have to foster your leaders. That's one of the most important things I'm trying to improve, and I need to develop a better system for organizing all those leads and staying on top of them every day, every day of work.

Also, stay on top of everything and am more organized with all my ideas and stuff. So, yeah. When it comes to leads reached out to a bunch of new leaders this year. Some have moved on, uh, got laid off, some. All around in, in that current position. So I will reach out again over the next couple of weeks to create more business and impact across the spectrum.

I have a couple of semi-hot leads right now, and I want to get on those sooner than later. They're people I've, haven't worked with, and it would be an excellent opportunity to work with them in the future. So, working on that, you know, a bunch of new projects is coming.

The start of the year, you know, the end of the year wraps up, and it seems like the rush to the finish line knocking out. People have to use the remaining of their budget or figure out what they will use their budget for next year. So a lot at the end of the year stuff is, can, can be rushed, um, and, and pretty busy.

So that's spilled over to the beginning of this year, finally starting to get many answers on many projects and what's coming down the pipeline. So, I'm very excited about it. Yeah, it's a fascinating time. As a small business owner, everybody knows that your book starts with a zero, so you open up QuickBooks, and there's a big old zero on money made this year.

So that's always a motivating factor in, um, in, in trying to create new business and foster those relationships. So yeah, it's been, it's been fun. The experiential stuff, the experience-based marketing, uh, product sampling stuff is starting to pick up again post Covid, which is excellent.

That's something that wasn't taking place before Covid, so extraordinary to see that stuff come back and be a bit more prominent. So, you know, very excited to see where that goes. Digital stuff has been, is, is, on the rise, right? I mean, digital marketing and influencer marketing is excellent.

There we go. , uh, So the influencer stuff is crazy. A couple of trends that I see in the influencer space. Uh, people are moving to influencer over the athlete. We're starting to see that with a couple of projects that we have coming up. Uh, and then obviously, diversity is a massive factor in their decision-making regarding influencers who consider those things.

Um, we are tending to see a more diverse, uh, individual. And, um, yeah, those are just kind of one of the biggest things we're noticing as we went through the influencer process of picking up people over the past couple of days. I hope that's helpful to anybody.

Again, if you need to know who I am, my name's Andrew. I own a marketing agency here in Denver, Colorado, and we focus on experiential, and we now focus on digital as well, and I'm very excited about that content creation.
